FAQ — Buying a gift card with Bitcoin

Everything about Bitcoin (BTC) payments, including Lightning Network, fees, confirmation times and addresses.

Can I pay my gift card in Bitcoin?

Yes. Bitcoin is accepted on-chain (the classic Bitcoin network) and over Lightning Network. Lightning offers near-instant confirmation and fees under one cent, ideal for small cards.

What are the Bitcoin network fees?

On-chain, fees vary with congestion: typically between €0.50 and €5 in 2026. Lightning: under €0.01. We display the exact estimate before payment.

How long does a Bitcoin confirmation take?

On-chain: 10 to 30 minutes for 1 confirmation, enough for standard virtual cards. Lightning: under 5 seconds. We wait for 1 on-chain confirmation before releasing the code.

Which Bitcoin address formats are supported?

All of them: Legacy (1...), SegWit (3...), Native SegWit / Bech32 (bc1q...) and Taproot (bc1p...). We default to Native SegWit, which delivers the lowest fees.

Is a Bitcoin payment irreversible?

Yes. A confirmed Bitcoin transaction cannot be cancelled. Double-check the address and amount before sending. For this reason, we guarantee delivery of the code on confirmation — no chargebacks needed.

What if I send the wrong amount?

Send too little and the transaction stays pending; you can top up within the 15-minute window. Send too much and the surplus is refunded to the same address when the order closes.

Do I need a specific wallet to pay with Bitcoin?

Any Bitcoin wallet works: Trust Wallet, Exodus, Ledger, BlueWallet, Phoenix (Lightning), Wallet of Satoshi (Lightning), or an exchange like Kraken/Coinbase. Avoid exchange addresses that mix funds — prefer your own wallet.

Is Lightning Network reliable for these purchases?

Yes, and it is even our recommended method for cards under €100. Lightning is mature in 2026 and used for millions of transactions per day. Near-zero fees, near-instant payment.
